Ideas:

-drawn animated loops /cut paper silhouettes of for ex: a tightrope walker, or a strong man at different points to accompany hand animated text on screen that says why you picked Haute & Freddy

-a joint left out to smolder on a sparkly circus tent ashtray (I found one on fb marketplace local) gets picked up by gloved hand as a bag pipe plays in the soundtrack

-actual garment on a mannequin by a house in a field, wind gently blows on the siding of a house covered in reflective green streamers, which are used as a green screen (removed) and replaced with abstract “direct animation” with the dresses colors

-miniature horse figurines stop motion animated (replacement style) alongside a carousel themed cake in an autumn field (more fb marketplace finds)

-rotoscope of ribbon dancing using found papers layered with circus soundscape with synth elements and a story from you about feeling proud of being weird (could use found footage or shoot our own)

The Dudelsack Dress Edit

My process with this edit

I started with asking-

What do we already have to work with?

I wanted to test that I could produce something in 4 hrs, so made that a challenge for myself in this edit, use what you have and do it in the time allotted.

The colors of the dress made me think of fall, and I already had beautiful footage of leafy landscapes. I played with layering those images like lines in plaid and it started turning into a little trailer for content moving forward.

This was the brain swirl that happened in those 4 hrs:

fall → red → dress → Kate Bush Wuthering Heights → odd → Claude Cahun → muscle man → cheeky → Josephine Baker → sparkling → Leonora Carrington → self-portrait → bagpipes → loud → painterly lines → merry-go-round → carousel → circus tent → hair → wild → green party streamers → magic lantern shows → 16mm projector beam
